Got to know a new friend called Yani in the library when i was helping my boss to re-new his book that he was reading...We have a short, chit-chat session then...(great to know you...if you are reading this...i've told her to start blogging as i've started mine not long ago...she was talking about the job as a librarian in HTA was rather a boring one...she said that she is looking for one but still have no options on what to select...
I think why we just "click" like that was because we were rather bored with the things that's happening during our working time....luckily it didn't have to carry forward after work...or else my life will be meaningless...
I think most people are facing the same problem as Yani is facing now...don't really like their present job and wanted a change...but afraid of making changes coz they are worried that they might make the wrong decision...or rather...going back to square one, same as the job they are doing now rite? Think this mostly happens to younger generation like us...in the "exploration" session...where everything is still very new to us....
Luckily my teacher has taught us on how to make the CORRECT DECISION in life.... Don't no it might help you out , but it did helped me alot. Shall share it with you ^_^
Rather than focusing on the job that you want to do in life, how much is the salary you want to get, the working hrs etc.... things that co-relate with jobs is the most insignificant thing that we need to consider when it comes to selection of job but rather ....
Why don't you focus on the things that you want in life?
Let me just explain just a bit on this to help you understand on this...
1.Write down what do you really want most in your life... eg: the lifestyle that you want, the type of achievements you want to achieve (may it be satisfaction from teaching your juniors, able to learn dancing etc...) , what kind of social friends you want to mingle with....it may seems like crazy..but just write it down on a piece of paper
2.Now by looking at that piece of paper....find out what are the jobs you can do to ACHIEVE all of, if not, most of the goals in life.
3.From here, then you start to see the job scope..what are the things you NEED to do in order to get the job in your hand.
4.Focus on those things that you NEED to do and work hard for it...finally...you WILL definitely get to your goals in life coz you make the decision correctly...not by their interests, not by the amount you want to earn, but the final result you want to achieve in the end.
What most people does the exactly opposite of what i've just writen
a)they will FOCUS on the money
b)they will FOCUS on their interests
which end up having the kind of lifestyle they don't like....
which look like this
Chosing on the job they like ---> Studying on the job scope --->Doing the things on the job scope ---> living in kind of lifestyle that the job has to offer
eg: Accountant
Choose accountancy--->Study accountancy--->Work as an Accountant--->Life as an accountant
I'm not saying that accountant is not a good job...but if you look very closely on the things i've written... if you get the things that you want in life... congratulations! But if you never get the things that you want... you might think why you didn't get there in the first place
That is why my teacher always enforce: Working hard is not the most difficult thing in life, make the correct decision in life is harder! Decision making is more important than anything else!
Think of what you want in life -----> Learn how to get it ---->Do the things that is required---> get the kind of lifestyle you want
This is one advice i can give you my friend, Yani!
Hope this will help as it helped me alot....it applies to everything in life...not only on your job...also on selection of your boyfriends as well...but i'll not touch on this issue...(too sensitive)
Ok! hope to see you often!!

hi...
thanks for the advice. its not that i dont like my job.. its just at times, when the place gets a lil quiet...it can get a bit bored.as for now, i dont intend to look for another job. i guess thats kinda early for me to decide hehhehe... infact, i find it quite interesting working down here, you know, to meet people from different walks of life. I’ve got senior police officers to share their working experiences. well, So long you are happy with wat u have and wat u r doing, then I guess u r doing fine. As for me I don’t think I am afraid of changes, if I am, I wouldn’t have quit my former job to b a librarian. I agree wit u, a change will some how bring u back square one but also a change will also bring u new experiences to spice up ur boring day :)-ur new found fren, yani-
